Stock Your Spice Rack

Trying to determine what spices to keep on hand can be tricky but it can be done. My recommendation if you are purchasing a new spice and you are not sure how much you will use it, buy only a small container of it. Of course, your basic spices like salt and pepper you can purchase in a larger size container. What brand name of spice to buy?  I can tell you that I buy a good portion of my spices at The Spice Crate and Penzeys Spices. They both offer on-line ordering or stop at their location(s) and you can take a whiff of the spices. I also buy spices in the natural food section or from the spice aisle at my local grocery store.
