Christmas

Christmas Recipe Pinterest Boards

December 23, 2013 by Kay Leave a Comment

Last night I was going over the next few days in my head, making sure I was ready for Christmas. Where are we going and when? Do I have all my gifts bought (and wrapped)?  Is there any last minute shopping I need to get done? Is my house clean? Do I have enough food in the house? What will I be making for our family gatherings?

I come from a large family, nine brothers and sisters, so when we get together everyone contributes something to the meal. I am bringing an assortment of the Twelve Days of Christmas Treats I featured here. I am also bringing something with corn. Why corn you ask, well, corn was grown in this year’s garden and we roasted and froze the majority of it. I will be making a version of creamed corn, I will feature the recipe at a later date.

I thought it might be helpful to put together a couple more Pinterest Boards with Christmas Dinner ideas to include main dishes, side dishes, salads and breads. I also put together a board of Christmas Drinks & Cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Click on the pictures to get to the pages.

Have a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!  Kay

There are many different ways you can follow me;  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or sign up for e-mail updates. So, take the time to sign up for updates and share this information with your family and friends. Thank you for your interest in my blog.

My first set of posts will be, Twelve Days of Christmas Treats. I have put together some simple and delicious treats for you to make and share with friends and family this holiday season. Day 1 of the Twelve Days of Christmas Treats is Peppermint Sugar Cookies. These cookies are light and crisp and the peppermint candy canes add a festive touch.

I would recommend dipping about 6 cookies at a time, then adding the crushed candy canes. You don’t want the chocolate to set before you get the candy canes added.

I used red chocolate in the recipe. If you can’t find the red chocolate (I bought mine at Fleet Farm), you can use white almond bark and add some red food coloring to make it red or you have the option to just use white or milk chocolate.
