Balsamic vinegar is cooked down to a thick syrup and is added to honey, barbeque sauce and brown sugar to become a flavorful sauce that can be used on meatballs, chicken or pork chops.
This sauce has a lot of complex layers that come alive in your mouth. If you are looking for a kicked up BBQ sauce, try Honey Balsamic BBQ Sauce, you won’t be disappointed.
I love this sauce on my recipe for Herb Meatballs.
Enjoy!
Honey Balsamic BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 bottle BBQ Sauce
Instructions
- Add the balsamic vinegar and agave to a sauce pan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook on a low boil for 35 minutes. Add in the brown sugar and bbq sauce and heat through for 10 minutes. Pour the sauce over the meatballs. At this point you can serve them now or you can add them to a slow cooker and keep warm over low heat.
